Alcohol Ink-Orb Dancer
A lyrical impressionistic alcohol ink painting by Dee Van Houten is a one-of-a-kind original. In using this very fluid medium, I find that my paintings become more lyrical in movement, therefore, I call this style lyrical impressionism.
My alcohol ink paintings are acid-free, highly pigmented and permanent. This medium is used on non-porous substrates such as glass, tile, plastics, metals and glossy papers.
In this painting I used a non-absorbable, translucent substrate and the colors, which can be quite vivid, appear to just float on top. I spray the finished piece with a clear protective coating that will not disturb the ink. I then use a thin layer of acrylic UV polymer varnish for a final layer of protection.
Sold unframed. Image size: 11" x 14"
This original alcohol ink painting was created at DevaArt Studio, USA.
